Resumo: The paper identifies, through sample survey, the perception of top-level managers (officers) on the state of PMDF use and benefits provided by the IS / IT for institutional management. In the theoretical concepts are presented related to the management of various organizational systems of PMDF and their IS / IT as a tool of management. It also presented the organizational structure of the institution, legal and constitutional peculiarities, as well as its relationship with the outside of the context of public safety. In the methodology presented will elements and definitions used in the study, "design" of the instruments of data collection in chapter presentation and data analysis are the results of treatment and analysis of information collected. The last chapter presents the conclusions and recommendations regarding the study. These conclusions identify the IS / IT is being effectively used in PMDF as tools of management, but do not meet the expectations of top-level managers of the PMDF.
