Resumo: The present study aimed to analyze the perception of teachers of Kindergarten and Elementary School of rural municipal schools in Morrinhos, GO, about the Environment and Environmental Education, namely: Municipal School Vereador Deusdete Damacena, Municipal School Lindolfo Alves Pinto, and Municipal School José Cândido da Silva. As it is a research that involves the subject’s perception, we opted for the case study with the use of a qualitative approach for data analysis. In all schools, questionnaires with semi-structured questions were applied to the seven teachers participating in the research, related to environmental issues. We clarify that this study stems from our concern to rethink the relationship between man and nature, as well as the conceptions of development, progress, and growth imposed by the capitalist economic model and how Environmental Education (EE) is being worked on in rural schools. The most important results show that the school is one of the main places to promote changes in behavior when working with different environmental knowledge; however, many challenges in working with EE still need to be overcome, starting with teacher training. Most of the research subjects still have a reductionist, naturalized, and anthropocentric view, both concerning the environment and Environmental Education.

Most of the research subjects still have a reductionist, naturalized, and anthropocentric view, both concerning the environment and Environmental Education.El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la percepción de los docentes de Educación Infantil y Primaria de las escuelas municipales rurales de Morrinhos, GO, sobre el Medio Ambiente y Educación Ambiental, a saber: Escuela Municipal Vereador Deusdete Damacena, Escuela Municipal Lindolfo Alves Pinto y Escuela Municipal José Cândido da Silva. Al ser una investigación que involucra la percepción del sujeto, optamos por el estudio de caso con el uso de un enfoque cualitativo para el análisis de datos. En todas las escuelas se aplicaron cuestionarios con preguntas semiestructuradas a los siete docentes participantes en la investigación, relacionados con temas ambientales. Aclaramos que este estudio surge de nuestra preocupación por repensar la relación entre el hombre y la naturaleza, así como las concepciones de desarrollo, progreso y crecimiento que impone el modelo económico capitalista y la forma en que se trabaja la Educación Ambiental (EA) en escuelas rurales. Los resultados más importantes muestran que la escuela es uno de los principales lugares para promover cambios de comportamiento cuando se trabaja con diferentes conocimientos ambientales, sin embargo, aún quedan por superar muchos desafíos en el trabajo con EA, comenzando por la formación docente. La mayoría de los sujetos de investigación aún tienen una visión reduccionista, naturalizada y antropocéntrica, tanto en relación al medio ambiente como en relación a la EA.O presente estudo teve o objetivo de analisar a percepção de professoras da Educação Infantil e do Ensino Fundamental I das escolas municipais rurais de Morrinhos, GO, sobre o Meio Ambiente e a Educação Ambiental, a saber: Escola Municipal Vereador Deusdete Damacena, Escola Municipal Lindolfo Alves Pinto e Escola Municipal José Cândido da Silva. Por ser uma pesquisa que envolve a percepção do sujeito, optamos pelo estudo de caso com o emprego de uma abordagem qualitativa para análise dos dados. Em todas as escolas, foram aplicados questionários com perguntas semiestruturadas para as sete professoras participantes da pesquisa, relacionadas às questões ambientais. Esclarecemos que este estudo decorre de nossa inquietação em repensar a relação do homem com a natureza, bem como das concepções de desenvolvimento, progresso e crescimento impostas pelo modelo econômico capitalista e a forma como a Educação Ambiental (EA) está sendo trabalhada nas escolas rurais. Os resultados mais importantes apontam que a escola é um dos principais locais para promover mudanças de comportamento ao trabalhar com os diversos saberes ambientais; porém, muitos desafios no trabalho com a EA ainda precisam ser superados, a começar pela formação dos professores.
