Youth work: the contradiction between insertion and precariousness

Resumo: The aim of this article is to analyze the working conditions of young graduates who work in extension projects at Paraná Midwest State University (UNICENTRO) which runs the University Without Borders Program (UFS). This study has a qualitative approach, using documentary research and interviews as research data. This study not only raises questions on the university extension programs, but also characterizes existential projects in progress and the profile of the people linked to them, the advantages and disadvantages of working in these projects and their implications,  considering the lack of rights and poor conditions of work in this context. We concluded that the university context is permeated by contradictions, the main one concerning to the work process of young people in extension projects: on one hand, young graduates have the opportunity to enter the job market; on the other, they are bound to work at a precarious work space that has ethical and technical vulnerable conditions under no government protection.

Através de uma abordagem qualitativa, utilizou-se de pesquisa documental e entrevista. Nesse estudo reflete-se acerca da extensão universitária, caracteriza-se os projetos de extensão em execução, os perfis dos jovens a eles vinculados, as vantagens e desvantagens de atuar nesses projetos e suas implicações face a inexistência de direitos e a precarização do trabalho nesse contexto.
