Social Protection and Childjuvenile Mental Health: challenges of intersectoriality

Resumo: This article aims to present a reflection on the challenges posed to intersectoriality in the construction of the social protection system of Brazilian children and youth in need of mental health care. This is a theoretical study, which aims to bring an analytical-reflexive contribution, based on the bibliography of the area. The findings show that intersectoriality is a possible way to build a social protection system for children and youth in need of mental health care, however, there is a gap between the intention and the materialization of this intersectoriality, and which such challenges are permeated by the neoliberal ideology. However, it is expected that such recognition will enable us to act in a way to strengthen what this guideline presents as the most salutary for the integral care of children and teenagers.

Trata-se de um estudo teórico, que visa trazer uma contribuição analítico-reflexivo, com base na bibliografia e em documentos jurídico-normativos da área. Os achados demonstram que a intersetorialidade é um caminho possível para a construção de um sistema de proteção social voltado para a infância e juventude que demanda cuidado em saúde mental, no entanto, existe uma lacuna entre a intenção e a materialização dessa intersetorialidade, e tais lacunas são permeadas pelo ideário neoliberal.
