Resumo: This study emerged from an epistemological nuisance generated in a hybrid teaching experience in the 1st period of the Occupational Therapy course at the State University of Health Sciences of Alagoas (UNCISAL). The experience took place in the discipline of Histology (2019.1), offered in the last teaching unit in the hybrid modality, in which the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) was explored. Among the online interfaces used in this experience, the discussion forum stood out, whose didactic design was structured based on the concept of a hinge theme. In view of the way the forum was built and the dialogues established, the following research question arose that mobilized us to this investigation: What are the potentials of the hinge themes for the development of dialogues in online forums? The objectives intended with this qualitative research were: to analyze the students' dialogues in the online forum; describe the relationship of the students' ideas with the proposed hinge theme; and, mainly, to evaluate the contributions of the hinge theme in the professional training of the occupational therapist. For this, we use the Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) methodology. From this, we found that the greatest potential of the proposed hinge theme was to instigate the protagonism of students in their learning process. By trying to connect students and the program contents of the last Histology teaching unit dialogically, we propitiate themselves as autonomous beings, that is, thinking, communicating beings and potential transformers of the reality that surrounds them and / or that will surround you one day.
