Biodiesel and Environmental Education in Chemistry Teaching: a CTSA approach applied in the technical course in Chemistry at IFCE – Campus Maracanaú

Resumo: | This research aimed to evaluate the importance of the biodiesel theme in the teaching of Chemistry combined with environmental education, using a CTSA (acronym in Portuguese) approach. For this, a qualitative case study was carried out with the participation of 37 students from an integrated technical course in Chemistry at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará (IFCE, acronym in Portuguese) - Campus Maracanaú. Five (05) interventions were elaborated: three synchronous classes in debate format and two asynchronous moments for the study of scientific articles on the production and characterization of biodiesel. Data collection occurred in the pre-test and post-test stages. In summary, as a result, too much progress was seen in the correlation of learning between chemical knowledge and environmental issues. In addition, the students' reflections on the research topic were great learning facilitators, promoting an interrelationship in the emphasis on the sustainable relationship between biodiesel and the current situation of degradation of the Planet. |

Para ello, se realizó un estudio de caso cualitativo con 37 alumnos de un curso técnico integrado en Química del Instituto Federal de Educación, Ciencia y Tecnología de Ceará (IFCE, acrónimo en portugués) - Campus Maracanaú. Se elaboraron cinco intervenciones: tres clases sincrónicas en formato debate y dos momentos asincrónicos para el estudio de artículos científicos sobre producción y caracterización de biodiesel. La recolección de datos ocurrió en las etapas de pre-test y post-test. En resumen, como resultado, se avanzó demasiado en la correlación del aprendizaje entre el conocimiento químico y las cuestiones ambientales. Además, las reflexiones de los estudiantes sobre el tema de investigación fueron grandes facilitadores de aprendizaje, promoviendo una interrelación en el énfasis en la relación sustentable entre el biodiesel y la actual situación de degradación del planeta.Esta pesquisa objetivou avaliar a importância do tema biodiesel no ensino de Química aliado à educação ambiental, utilizando uma abordagem CTSA. Para isso, realizou-se um estudo de caso qualitativo que contou com a participação de 37 estudantes de um curso técnico integrado em Química do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Ceará (IFCE) – Campus Maracanaú. Foram elaboradas cinco intervenções: três aulas síncronas em formato de debate e dois momentos assíncronos para estudo de artigos científicos sobre a produção e caracterização do biodiesel. A coleta de dados ocorreu nas etapas de pré-teste e pós-teste. Em síntese, como resultados, percebeu-se demasiado avanço na correlação de aprendizados entre os conhecimentos químicos e as problemáticas ambientais.
