Statistical, probabilistic and financial literacy: paths that cross

Resumo: | In this qualitative research, of bibliographic-documental nature, we approach different conceptions about three types of literacy that we have been investigating in recent years: Statistical Literacy, Probabilistic Literacy and Financial Literacy, in search of possible intersections between these three areas of human experience. We consider this topic of great relevance for Brazilian education, in times of curriculum reform, driven by the publication of the Common National Curriculum Base – BNCC, a document that gives great importance to multiliteracy. Probability and Statistics gained a lot of space after the publication of the BNCC, as they constitute a thematic unit that should be explored in the classroom, from Kindergarten to the end of High School. It is also worth noting that Financial Education, absent in the documents that guided national education until then, the National Curriculum Parameters – PCN, now appears in the new curricula with great prominence, since it acquired the status of transversal theme. Finally, we propose a financial literacy model compatible with statistical and probabilistic literacy models widely used in Statistical Education. |

Finally, we propose a financial literacy model compatible with statistical and probabilistic literacy models widely used in Statistical Education.En esta investigación cualitativa, de carácter bibliográfico-documental, abordamos diferentes concepciones sobre tres tipos de alfabetización que venimos investigando en los últimos años: Alfabetización Estadística, Alfabetización Probabilística y Alfabetización Financiera, en busca de posibles intersecciones entre estas tres áreas de la experiencia humana. Consideramos este tema de gran relevancia para la educación brasileña, en tiempos de reforma curricular, impulsada por la publicación de la Base Curricular Nacional Común - BNCC, documento que otorga gran importancia a la multialfabetización. Probabilidad y Estadística ganaron mucho espacio tras la publicación del BNCC, ya que constituyen una unidad temática que conviene explorar en el aula, desde el jardín de infancia hasta el final del Bachillerato. Cabe señalar también que la Educación Financiera, ausente en los documentos que hasta entonces orientaban la educación nacional, los Parámetros Curriculares Nacionales - PCN, aparece ahora en los nuevos currículos con gran protagonismo, ya que adquirió la categoría de tema transversal. Finalmente, proponemos un modelo de alfabetización financiera compatible con los modelos de alfabetización estadística y probabilística ampliamente utilizados en Educación Estadística.Nessa pesquisa qualitativa, de natureza bibliográfico-documental, nós abordamos diferentes concepções a respeito de três modalidades de literacia que temos investigado nos últimos anos: a Literacia Estatística, a Literacia Probabilística e a Literacia Financeira, em busca de possíveis intersecções entre essas três áreas da experiência humana. Consideramos esse tema de grande relevância para a educação brasileira, em tempos de reforma curricular, impulsionada pela publicação da Base Nacional Comum Curricular – BNCC, documento esse que confere grande importância ao multiletramento. A Probabilidade e a Estatística ganharam muito espaço a partir da publicação da BNCC, pois constituem uma unidade temática que deve ser explorada em sala de aula, desde a Educação Infantil até o término do Ensino Médio. Vale destacar, ainda, que a Educação Financeira, ausente nos documentos norteadores da educação nacional até então, os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais – PCN, agora aparece nos novos currículos com grande destaque, uma vez que adquiriu o status de tema transversal.
