Perception of students and teachers regarding the teaching of Chemistry in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic

Resumo: This research aimed to analyze the perception of students and teachers regarding the teaching of Chemistry in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic in Paraíba. This is an exploratory study with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The target audience was 121 students and 3 teachers from 2 public schools in Arara-PB. As a data collection instrument, questionnaires applied through the Google Forms tool were used. The results showed that the majority of students are female, live in the urban area and are beneficiaries of Bolsa Família. In addition, they rated the classes during this remote period as interesting and the main difficulty is related to the speed of the internet. Teachers reported that they use different digital resources in the preparation of their classes and point out learning assessment as a difficulty. From the analysis of the results, the concern of students and teachers with the teaching and learning process of Chemistry became evident.

Se trata de un estudio exploratorio con enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo. El público objetivo fueron 121 alumnos y 3 profesores de 2 escuela públicas en Arara-PB. Como instrumento de recolección de datos se utilizaron cuestionarios aplicados a través de la herramienta Google Forms. Los resultados mostraron que la mayoría de los estudiantes son mujeres, viven en el área urbana y son beneficiarios de Bolsa Família. Además, calificaron las clases durante este remoto período como interesantes y la principal dificultad está relacionada con la velocidad de Internet. Los docentes informaron que utilizan diferentes recursos digitales en la preparación de sus clases y señalan la evaluación del aprendizaje como una dificultad. A partir del análisis de los resultados, se hizo evidente la preocupación de estudiantes y docentes con el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la Química.Essa pesquisa teve por objetivo analisar a percepção dos alunos e professores quanto ao ensino de Química frente à pandemia da Covid-19 na Paraíba. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório de abordagem quali-quantitativa. O público alvo foram 121 estudantes e 3 docentes de 2 escolas da rede pública estadual em Arara-PB. Como instrumento de coleta de dados utilizou-se questionários aplicados através da ferramenta Google Forms. Os resultados mostraram que a maioria dos alunos são do sexo feminino, residem na zona urbana e são beneficiários do Bolsa Família. Além disso, esses classificaram as aulas durante esse período remoto como interessante e a principal dificuldade está relacionada com a velocidade da internet. Já os professores relataram que utilizam diferentes recursos digitais na preparação de suas aulas e apontam a avaliação da aprendizagem como uma dificuldade.
