Experience report and investigation of the application of a fictional character as a method in learning Human Anatomy

Resumo: Teaching Anatomy demands strategies that stimulate the students' interest, avoiding memorization and offering a contextualized teaching. This paper reports the experience of creating and using a persona, as a pedagogical strategy, in a hybrid-learning environment. The data were generated by participant observation, from posts on social media, and by two questionnaires. Content analysis was performed by categorization and by means of the Likert Scale. The use of a persona contributed to the training of Physical Education undergraduates, especially due to its playfulness trait, increasing participation in activities, motivation, engagement and interest in learning. It also fostered a sense of belonging in relation to the discipline. In summary, the use of the persona was well received by students and can be adapted to any subject, as long as the persona is developed regarding characteristics from the students taking the subject in question.

Este estudio relata la experiencia de crear y utilizar un personaje, como estrategia pedagógica, en un entorno híbrido educativo. Los datos han sido generados mediante la observación participante, las publicaciones en redes sociales y dos cuestionarios. Se procedió a un análisis de contenido por categorización y a través de la escala de Likert. El uso del personaje contribuyó en la formación de los estudiantes de Educación Física, especialmente por su carácter lúdico, aumentando la participación en las actividades, la motivación, el compromiso y el interés por el aprendizaje, además de generar un sentido de pertenencia a la disciplina académica. En resumen, el uso de un personaje fue bien recibido por los estudiantes y puede adaptarse a cualquier asignatura, siempre que el personaje, desde su construcción, tenga en cuenta las características de los alumnos del curso en cuestión.O ensino de Anatomia demanda estratégias que estimulem o interesse dos alunos, fugindo da memorização e oferecendo um ensino contextualizado. Este trabalho relata a experiência da criação e uso de uma persona, como estratégia pedagógica, em um ambiente híbrido de ensino. Os dados foram gerados por meio de observação participante, pelas postagens nas redes sociais e dois questionários. Procedeu-se a Análise de Conteúdo por categorização e por meio da Escala de Likert. O uso da persona contribuiu na formação dos licenciandos em Educação Física, sobretudo devido à ludicidade, aumentando a participação nas atividades, a motivação, o engajamento e o interesse em aprender, assim como gerou um sentimento de pertencimento em relação à disciplina.
