Resumo: This study aimed to address an institutional research in the technical course in Mechatronics. The students studied are high school integrated with the technical, the final project discipline uses Problem Based Learning (PBL) which is a methodology which presents a problem situation that is used to motivate students, focusing on Design Thinking. The article will present students' perceptions regarding the active methodologies presented. Although DT is consolidated in industrial and business environments it is little used in education. As a consequence, it can be observed that most students see the approach interesting, especially in relation to the contribution to the professional formation, thus adding content and the experience of group work that can sometimes occur divergence and friction. The research consisted of a virtual questionnaire with multiple choice questions and the Likert scale was used to measure the items. However, students see the possibility of bringing the results obtained in practical work projects (prototypes) using the Arduino platform for practical situations of daily life, contributing to reality and acting on issues close to the life of the population.
