Resumo: This work analyzes the reading practices of printed materials of scientific divulgation of parents and students of a public school and the relation of these practices with the constitution of readers of a magazine of scientific divulgation for children. To carry out this investigation, we developed two questionnaires. The first of them, sent to families, with the objective of investigating the reading materials present in the family environment and reading preferences. The second questionnaire was answered by the children in the classroom in order to analyze their knowledge about the only scientific dissemination magazine produced in Brazil for children. As evidenced by the data, most children do not know Ciência Hoje das Crianças, although some recognize marks necessary for the beginning of the construction of meanings that imprint comprehensibility to the acquisition of reading skills. The interaction of scientific dissemination texts depends on the reading practices, especially at school, the main literacy agency in our society.

Para llevar a cabo esta investigación, desarrollamos dos cuestionarios. El primero de ellos, dirigido a las familias, con el objetivo de indagar sobre los materiales de lectura presentes en el entorno familiar y las preferencias lectoras. El segundo cuestionario fue respondido por los niños en el aula para analizar su conocimiento sobre la única revista de divulgación científica producida en Brasil para niños. Como evidencian los datos, la mayoría de los niños no conocen Science Today for Children, aunque algunos reconocen marcas necesarias para el inicio de la construcción de significados que imprimen comprensibilidad a la adquisición de la competencia lectora. La interacción de los textos de divulgación científica depende de las prácticas lectoras, especialmente en la escuela, principal agente alfabetizador de nuestra sociedad.Este trabalho analisa práticas de leitura de materiais impressos de divulgação científica de pais e alunos de uma escola pública e a relação com a constituição de leitores de uma revista de divulgação científica para crianças. Para a realização desta investigação, elaboramos dois questionários. O primeiro, enviado às famílias, teve o objetivo de investigar os materiais de leitura presentes no ambiente familiar e as preferências de leitura. O segundo questionário foi respondido pelas crianças, em sala de aula, com o objetivo de analisar o conhecimento sobre a única revista de divulgação científica produzida no Brasil para o público infantil. Conforme evidenciam os dados, a maioria das crianças não conhecem a Ciência Hoje das Crianças, embora algumas reconheçam marcas necessárias ao início da construção de significados que imprimem compreensibilidade à aquisição de competências de leitura.
