Organization of learning units in Chemistry: the state of knowledge in theses

Resumo: | This paper aims to identify the Brazilian scientific production about the way that Learning Units have been organized in Chemistry as a school subject. It is a state of knowledge research that resorted to the following electronic bases: Catalog of Dissertations and Theses of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, and the Brazilian Digital Library of Dissertations and Theses. The descriptor “Learning Unit” was used to guide the search. This is a relevant topic in the field of Chemistry as the organization of the Learning Units in this school subject may contribute to replace conventional classes centered on the simple presentation of previously structured knowledge. The results have shown that the Learning Units, in relation to Chemistry as a school subject, have been mostly organized considering the assumptions of educating through research with a focus on both the students’ previous knowledge and their questions as raw material for the arrangement and development of the units. It has also been possible to evidence Learning Units guided by the approach to specific themes with a focus on meaningful learning. The study may contribute to the pedagogical practice, since it addresses possibilities of approaching chemical knowledges in a way that is representative for the students. |

Trata-se de uma pesquisa inserida no estado do conhecimento, em que se recorreu às bases eletrônicas: Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior e Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações. Esta busca foi orientada a partir do descritor “Unidade de Aprendizagem”. Considera-se o tema relevante no campo da Química, uma vez que a organização das Unidades de Aprendizagem nesse componente curricular pode favorecer a superação de aulas convencionais centradas na mera exposição de conhecimentos previamente estruturados. Os resultados indicam que as Unidades de Aprendizagem, no que diz respeito ao componente curricular de Química, estão organizadas, em sua maioria, a partir dos pressupostos do educar pela pesquisa com foco nos conhecimentos iniciais dos estudantes e nas perguntas dos estudantes como matéria-prima para o seu arranjo e desenvolvimento. Também foi possível evidenciar Unidades de Aprendizagem orientadas por meio da abordagem de temáticas específicas com foco na aprendizagem significativa.
