A content analysis of ratio and proportion in Elementary School textbooks

Resumo: The objective of this work is to analyze how the content of ratio and proportion is developed in Elementary School textbooks, comparing the previous and subsequent editions to the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The two analyzed collections were chosen because they have the largest number of copies purchased throughout Brazil. For the qualitative analysis, seven criteria were developed to study the content and activities. The main changes between the collections and the concordance of the last edition regarding the skills listed in the BNCC were scored. It was concluded that: one of the collections, the edition prior to the BNCC is compatible with what was expected and the books prior to the BNCC showed greater concern in approaching the content. Current books contain what is considered the minimum to be in line with the skills highlighted in the BNCC.

Las dos colecciones analizadas fueron elegidas por tener el mayor número de ejemplares comprados en todo Brasil. Para el análisis cualitativo, se desarrollaron siete criterios para estudiar el contenido y las actividades. Se puntuaron los principales cambios entre las colecciones y la concordancia de la última edición con respecto a las competencias enumeradas en la BNCC. Se concluyó que en una de las colecciones, la edición anterior a la BNCC es compatible con lo esperado y los libros anteriores a la BNCC mostraron mayor preocupación en el abordaje del contenido. Los libros actuales contienen lo que se considera el mínimo, para estar en línea con la habilidad destacada en el BNCC.O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar como desenvolve-se o conteúdo de razão e proporção nos livros didáticos do Ensino Fundamental, comparando a edições anteriores e posteriores à Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC). Para a análise de caráter qualitativo, foram elaborados sete critérios que visam o estudo do conteúdo e das atividades. Foram pontuadas as principais mudanças entre as coleções e a concordância da última edição com relação às habilidades listadas na BNCC. Concluiu-se que: uma das coleções, a edição anterior à BNCC, está compatível com o esperado e os livros anteriores à BNCC demonstraram maior preocupação na abordagem do conteúdo.
