PIC/OBMEP: program for teaching students with talent in Mathematics

Resumo: | The promotion of social inclusion is one of the main themes of the Brazilian government's action today. In this context, educational policies have created projects for inclusion and Scientific Initiation Program (PIC) of the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad Public Schools (OBMEP) is one of them. Given the above, one may question what contributions, the PIC provides for its participants. Seeking answers to this question, during the peak of OBMEP 2010, we performed a case study with participants PIC Pole from Ponta Grossa / Paraná. The objective of this research was to list some contributions that PIC provides for the learning of students who participate in this program. It is clear that the data were analyzed within the qualitative approach, and unveiled that the PIC is a positive factor for the learning of these students within their schools; it promotes the improvement of mathematical knowledge participants Pole from Ponta Grossa. |

A promoção da inclusão social é um dos principais temas de ação do governo brasileiro na atualidade. Nesse contexto, políticas educacionais têm criado projetos de inclusão e o Programa de Iniciação Científica (PIC) da Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas (OBMEP) é um deles. Diante do exposto, questionam-se quais contribuições, o PIC, proporciona para seus participantes. Procurando respostas para esse questionamento, no decorrer do PIC da OBMEP 2010, realizou-se um estudo de caso com os participantes do PIC do Pólo de Ponta Grossa/Paraná. Essa pesquisa visa elencar algumas contribuições que o PIC proporciona para a aprendizagem dos estudantes que participam desse programa. Cabe clarificar que os dados foram analisados dentro da abordagem qualitativa, desvelando que o PIC é um fator positivo para a aprendizagem desses estudantes, pois promove o aperfeiçoamento dos conhecimentos matemáticos dos participantes do Pólo de Ponta Grossa.
