The Professional Master's Degree in Teaching Natural Sciences and Mathematics at UFRN: an analysis of dissertations and monitoring of graduates from 2012 to 2020

Resumo: The PPGECNM-UFRN with nearly 20 years of existence, has formed a significant number of masters. This study seeks to assess the formation of the program in the period from 2012 to 2020 based on academic production and monitoring of graduates. This is a documental study with a view to analyzing 121 dissertations produced during this period and monitoring the graduates in terms of the impact of training and professional performance. An analysis script and a questionnaire were used as instruments. The data were processed by tools made available by the institution's Applied Statistics Laboratory. The results show that 50% of the dissertations focus on the creation or use of didactic resources and described/evaluated strategies for teaching Science, mainly for high school students; 60% of graduates had a salary improvement after completing the course and believe that the program trains professionals, generating positive impacts on their practice in the classroom.

Este estudio busca evaluar la formación del programa en el período de 2012 a 2020 con base en la producción académica y el seguimiento de los egresados. Se trata de un estudio documental con el objetivo de analizar 121 tesis elaboradas durante este período y hacer un seguimiento de los egresados ​​en cuanto al impacto de la formación y el desempeño profesional. Se utilizaron como instrumentos un guión de análisis y un cuestionario. Los datos fueron procesados ​​por herramientas puestas a disposición por el Laboratorio de Estadística Aplicada de la institución. Los resultados muestran que el 50% de las disertaciones se enfocan en la creación o uso de recursos didácticos y estrategias descritas/evaluadas para la enseñanza de la ciencia, principalmente para estudiantes de secundaria; El 60% de los egresados ​​tuvo una mejora salarial luego de completar el curso y cree que el programa capacita a los profesionales, generando impactos positivos en su práctica en el aula.Com quase 20 anos de existência, o PPGECNM-UFRN formou um número expressivo de mestres. Nesse contexto é que este estudo busca avaliar o processo de formação do programa no período de 2012 a 2020 a partir da produção acadêmica e do acompanhamento de egressos. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza documental com vistas a analisar 121 dissertações produzidas nesse período e acompanhar os egressos em termos do impacto da formação e a atuação profissional. Utilizou-se como instrumentos um roteiro de análise e um questionário. Os dados foram tratados por ferramentas disponibilizadas pelo Laboratório de Estatística Aplicada da instituição.
