Function variation analysis taught through Problem Solving

Resumo: | This work is part of a doctoral research that aimed to insert the Problem-Solving teaching- learning-evaluation methodology to teach the contents of Differential and Integral Calculus. This text presents a didactic sequence designed to approach the contents of the variation analysis of one-real-variable real functions using such methodological approach. Such didactic sequence was applied to two classes of undergraduate programs of Santa Catarina State University. The tasks had a noticeably positive contribution to students' learning, since most of the participants were able to elaborate the correct conjectures as expected by the researchers. Another contribution of this work regards teaching: we make some comments and provide tips to teachers who wish to insert this methodological approach in their classes, but are not yet familiar with it. |

Este texto tem por objetivo apresentar uma sequência didática preparada para abordar o conteúdo de análise da variação de funções reais de uma variável real usando essa abordagem metodológica. A referida sequência didática foi aplicada em duas turmas dos cursos de Licenciaturas de uma universidade pública brasileira. Percebemos que essa tarefa contribuiu positivamente para a aprendizagem dos estudantes, pois a maioria dos participantes foi capaz de elaborar as conjecturas corretas e almejadas pelos pesquisadores.
