Mathematical modeling and working environment: a pedagogical combination towards learning

Resumo: | In this article we approach mathematical modeling as a methodological option in the mathematic discipline in a Business Administration Graduation Course. In the article we have as an objective to analyze the pedagogical contribution when using association between curricular contents and the development of applications, through modeling projects, in the students’ daily live situations, mainly when such situations are related to their current or future professional activities. The activities developed allowed to establish a relation between the mathematical contents approached in the discipline with some problems linked to the reality of an administrator. As main results, we highlight from one side, the potentiality of the work group when comparing to the contribution that each group member can give to the project development when helping their classmates and, on the other side, the students’ perceptions about the discipline relevance for their intellectual growth and professional valorization. |

Nele, temos como objetivo analisar as contribuições pedagógicas quando se faz uso da associação entre conteúdos curriculares e o desenvolvimento de aplicações, através de projetos de modelagem, em situações do cotidiano do aluno, principalmente quando essas situações relacionam-se com suas atividades profissionais, atuais ou futuras. As atividades desenvolvidas permitiram estabelecer uma relação entre os conteúdos matemáticos abordados na disciplina com alguns problemas vinculados à realidade de um administrador. Como principais resultados, destacamos, de um lado, a potencialidade de trabalhos em grupo em relação à contribuição que cada integrante pode dar tanto para o desenvolvimento do projeto quanto no auxílio aos seus colegas de classe.
