The statistic content in the brazilian Mathematical olympiad for public school (OBMEP) tests

Resumo: With the intention of verifying the importance given to the Statistical Education in external assessments, in other words, tests applied by organizations that are not part of the school environment, this article aims to analyze how the Statistic content is present in the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad for Public Schools (OBMEP) tests. To achieve this, 13 editions of the OBMEP, from 2005 to 2017, were analyzed. This research has a qualitative character with description of the found results. Considering the first phase and the second phase of the tests, 780 and 234 questions were analyzed, respectively. In the first phase were found 30 Statistics questions and in the second phase were found only two. In the analysis of questions it was found out that only one explored the statistical reasoning about statistical measures and some explores the reasoning about data interpretation in graphs. Therefore, knowing about the relevance and the importance of the OBMEP to student through the incentive of the mathematics study, we believe that Statistical contents should be approached more frequently and in a way that evaluate the reasoning capacity and critical reflection of student.

Para isso foram analisadas as 13 edições realizadas da OBMEP no período de 2005 a 2017. A pesquisa é de caráter qualitativo com a descrição dos resultados encontrados. Considerando a 1ª fase e a 2ª fase da prova, foram analisadas 780 e 234 questões, respectivamente. Para a 1ª fase se encontrou 30 questões de Estatística e para a 2ª fase foram apenas duas. Na análise das questões se verificou que somente uma explorou o raciocínio estatístico sobre medidas estatísticas e algumas exploraram o raciocínio sobre a interpretação de dados em gráficos.
