Resumo: The text that begins here deals with the experiences with the figure of the clown in workshops carried out by the Circo em Contextos project, together with the Open University of the Third Age (UATI), in the year 2022. It aims to report and discuss the pedagogy of clowns and their relationships with health and Physical Education in a group of elderly women, based on sharing memories and bodily experiences with clown games. The weekly meetings were attended by 18 women members of the UATI, aged between 55 and 90 years old. Thirteen classes of 45 minutes each were held, addressing knowledge about clowns and expressive games with an emphasis on clowning. Bearing in mind that the clown builds with what is ridiculous, unusual, with the imperfections inherent to the human condition, the work carried out enabled the participating women to have a new attitude towards the aging body, facing its weaknesses, re-elaborating them as a power.

Tiene como objetivo relatar y discutir la pedagogía del payaso y sus relaciones con la salud y la Educación Física en un grupo de ancianas, a partir del intercambio de memorias y experiencias corporales con juegos del payaso. A las reuniones semanales asistieron 18 mujeres integrantes de la UATI, con edades entre 55 y 90 años. Se realizaron trece clases de 45 minutos cada una, abordando conocimientos sobre payasos y juegos expresivos con énfasis en el payaso. Teniendo en cuenta que el payaso construye con lo ridículo, lo insólito, con las imperfecciones inherentes a la condición humana, el trabajo realizado permitió a las mujeres participantes tener una nueva actitud frente al cuerpo envejecido, enfrentando sus debilidades, reelaborándolas como una potencia.O texto que aqui se inicia trata das experiências com a figura do palhaço em oficinas realizadas pelo projeto Circo em Contextos, junto à Universidade Aberta da Terceira Idade (UATI), no ano de 2022. Tem como objetivo relatar e discutir a pedagogia do palhaço e suas relações com a saúde e a Educação Física em um grupo de mulheres idosas, a partir do compartilhamento de memórias e das experiências corporais com os jogos de palhaçaria. Participaram dos encontros semanais 18 mulheres integrantes da UATI, de idade entre 55 e 90 anos. Foram realizadas 13 aulas de 45 minutos cada, abordando-se conhecimentos sobre palhaço e jogos expressivos com ênfase na palhaçaria.
