Resumo: The emission of carbon dioxide from urban transport is a problem both in Brazil and in other parts of the world and this requires thinking about ways to mitigate its negative impacts. More sustainable fuel, Biodiesel, and relate it to the focus of the problem, which is urban transport. The bibliometric method was used, aiming to expand the knowledge regarding international publications related to the Biodiesel topic in the Web of Science database from 2010 to 2019. The results show that publications in the area have gradually increased over time and that most of the research was published in the journal Energy Fuels.

El estudio tiene naturaleza exploratoria, se caracteriza en cuanto el abordaje como cuantitativo y para fines de su operacionalización fue desarrollado a partir de una investigación bibliométrica, objetivando ampliar el conocimiento referente a las publicaciones internacionales relacionadas al tema Biodiesel en la base de datos Web of Science en el período de 2010 a 2019. Los resultados revelan que las publicaciones en el área han aumentado gradualmente con el tiempo y que la mayoría de las investigaciones se han publicado en la revista Energy Fuels. El autor con mayor número de publicaciones sobre este tema fue Masjuki HH. Como limitación del estudio, se destaca su realización utilizando sólo en una base de datos específica. Como sugerencia para trabajos futuros se puede ampliar el alcance de los medios de publicación.O objetivo do trabalho consiste em identificar as principais características da produção científica internacional relacionada ao Biodiesel e transporte urbano nos últimos dez anos. Os resultados revelam que as publicações na área têm aumentado gradativamente ao longo do tempo e que a maioria das pesquisas foram publicadas no periódico Energy Fuels.  O autor com maior número de publicações sobre este tema foi Masjuki HH. Como limitação do estudo, destaca-se a sua realização utilizando apenas em uma base de dados específica.
