Step-interviews: an artist's book in displacements through the city

Resumo: This article revisits the method of step-interviews, which gave rise to the artist book Cidade Passo, years after its publication, proposing a re-reading that shifts the work from its initial approach to ethnography towards the notion of education of attention. In developing this analysis, I relate the step-interviews to the image of "string figures" proposed by Donna Haraway to think collaborative systems among living beings and the notion of the footpath as design and architectural object, based on the reflections of Jacques and Careri. Finally, I rewrite one of the experiences made in the context of the book production in São Paulo, and propose a dialogue of this with a new trail, made in 2020, this time in Salvador, using a mode of writing in first person that identifies with the notion of "f(r)iccional academic writing".

En el desarrollo de este análisis, relaciono las entrevistas-paso con la imagen de "figuras de cuerda" propuesta por Donna Haraway para pensar sistemas colaborativos entre seres vivos y la noción de sendero como objeto de diseño y arquitectura, a partir de las reflexiones de Jacques y Careri. Finalmente, reescribo una de las experiencias en el contexto de producción del libro, realizadas en São Paulo y propongo un diálogo de esta con un nuevo trayecto, realizado en 2020, de esta vez en Salvador, utilizando un modo de escritura en primera persona que se identifica con la noción de "escritura académica f(r)iccional".Este artigo revisita o método das entrevistas-passo, que deu origem ao livro de artista Cidade Passo, anos depois de sua publicação, propondo uma releitura que desloca o trabalho de sua aproximação inicial com a etnografia em direção à noção de educação da atenção. No desenvolver desta análise, relaciono as entrevistas-passo com a imagem das "figuras de barbante" (string figures) proposta por Haraway para pensar sistemas colaborativos entre seres vivos e com a noção de percurso a pé enquanto desenho e objeto arquitetônico, a partir das reflexões de Jacques e Careri.
