Resumo: This article presents the contributions of the Education Observatory Program, Federal University of Piauí, for teacher training. The development of the project “The full-time school in the perspective of integral education: a study on the school epistemology constituted by the management and organization of the pedagogical work” fomented the academic production on the subject, articulating the postgraduate, degrees and schools of education of basic education involved. The research is of a qualitative nature, with an ethnomethodological approach, and uses the conceptions of André (1995) about the educational work in the model of full-time school. The results focus directly on the training of subjects, guided by research, practice and reflection, making this formation more solid, critical and reflexive. The results show the relevant impacts of this program for education and for teacher training. For this reason, it is pointed out the need to maintain and expand initiatives such as this one by the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel, whether in the form of individual projects or in a network.

O desenvolvimento do projeto “A escola de tempo integral na perspectiva da educação integral: um estudo sobre a epistemologia escolar constituída pela gestão e organização do trabalho pedagógico” fomentou a produção acadêmica sobre o tema, articulando a pós-graduação, as licenciaturas e as escolas de educação básica envolvidas. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa, com abordagem etnometodológica, e utiliza as concepções de André (1995) acerca do trabalho educativo no modelo de escola de tempo integral. Os resultados incidem diretamente na formação de seus sujeitos, orientada pela pesquisa, pela prática e pela reflexão, tornando essa formação mais sólida, crítica e reflexiva. Os resultados mostram os impactos relevantes do referido programa para a educação e para a formação de professores.
