Resumo: Teaching practice/TP’s supervisors play an important role in the development of future teachers’ identity, enabling them to successfully face challenges inherent to the complexity of educational contexts in permanent change. This article aims to characterize the supervisors’ discourse about their TP in the context of initial teacher education of future secondary schools teachers in Cape Verde, in order to understand their formation needs. The methodology involved the construction, validation and application of questionnaires to 10 institutional supervisors, 19 cooperative supervisors and 66 future teachers, and in order to better understand the results interviews with 3 Higher Education supervisors and 3 school supervisors were carried on. The results show that it is urgent to develop supervisors’ competences, in order to promote their reflexive, critical and sustained research based thinking and acting, as well as to increase collaboration with their peers. This will certainly enhance the quality of their supervisor role, and make them more active in their professional development. profile of trainees and, consequently, education in general in the archipelago.

En formación inicial, los supervisores pedagógicos desempeñan un papel importante en la construcción de la identidad profesional del docente en formación, ayudando a los futuros maestros a enfrentar con éxito la complejidad de los desafíos inherentes a los contextos educativos en constante cambio. Este artículo caracteriza el discurso sobre las prácticas de supervisión de los supervisores de futuros docentes de Educación Secundaria en Cabo Verde, que buscan comprender necesidades de su formación. Con ese fin, se aplicaron cuestionarios a 10 supervisores institucional, 19 supervisores colaboradores y 66 alumnos, y se realizaron entrevistas en profundidad con 3 supervisores de secundaria y 3 supervisores de la escuela. Los resultados muestran que es imperativo capacitar a los supervisores para alentarlos a tener posiciones más reflexivas y críticas, a investigar y colaborar entre sí para mejorar la calidad de su función de supervisión, permitiéndoles desempeñar un papel cada vez más activo en su desarrollo. Los cambios organizativos emergen como fundamentales para mejorar el perfil de los futuros docentes y, por consiguiente, la educación general en el Cabo Verde. Na formação inicial, os supervisores de estágio pedagógico exercem um papel importante na construção de identidade profissional no formando, contribuindo para que os futuros professores sejam capazes de enfrentar com sucesso a complexidade dos desafios inerentes aos contextos educativos, em constante transformação. Este artigo caracteriza o discurso acerca das práticas supervisivas de supervisores de estágio de futuros professores do Ensino Secundário/ES em Cabo Verde, procurando compreender necessidades da sua formação. Para efeito, foram concebidos, validados e aplicados questionários e aplicados questionários a 10 supervisores institucionais, 19 supervisores cooperantes e 66 estagiários, e realizadas entrevistas de aprofundamento a 3 supervisores do Ensino Superior e 3 supervisores de escolas. Os resultados mostram que urge formar os supervisores incentivando-os a terem posturas mais reflexivas e críticas, investigativas e de colaboração entre si, de modo a potenciar a qualidade da sua função supervisiva permitindo que tenham um papel cada vez mais ativo no seu desenvolvimento.
