Resumo: The Attention Deficit Disorder / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the diagnoses that has gained importance and prominence in clinical practice, psychological and health, especially in children and adolescents. Is characterized by inadequate levels of care, leading to motor disorders, perceptual, cognitive and behavioral. Increasingly epidemiology (prevalence between 3% and 6% throughout the world and in Brazil) and etiology complex (multifactorial, combining biological and social components). Although considered by many as neurodevelopmental disorder of biological origin, there is increasing discussion of their symbolic, intersubjective and social aspects. We seek in this article to discuss the findings about ADHD and on public inclusion policies that developed to reach that include neurodevelopmental disorders which include ADHD. Joining the struggle of social movements by the inclusion of scientific knowledge about the disorder is essential to good planning and good practice of the fact that policies respond to the needs of suffering and not just play the idea of vertical policy.

Se caracteriza por níveis inadequados de atenção, levando a distúrbios motores, perceptivos, cognitivos e comportamentais. De epidemiologia crescente (prevalência entre 3% e 6% em todo o mundo e no Brasil) e etiologia complexa (multifatorial, combinando componentes biológicos e sociais). Apesar de ser considerado por muitos como transtorno do neurodesenvolvimento, de origem biológica, há uma discussão crescente sobre seus aspectos simbólicos, intersubjetivos e sociais. Buscamos nesse artigo discutir os achados acerca do TDAH e sobre as políticas públicas de inclusão que se desenvolveram até chegar às que incluem os transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento nos quais se incluem o TDAH.
