Resumo: | This study aims to investigate the use of the specialized lexicon (LSP dictionary) for building the topics proposed for the development of the ENEM essay, considering the possible delimitations presented by the supporting texts in reference to the terminology used. Thus, the work is based on the theoretical precepts of the Communicative Theory of Terminology (CTT) and as a corpus of analysis it contemplates three essay prompts of the ENEM with different topics corresponding to the years 1999, 2009 and 2020, whose preliminary reading has enabled the verification of specialty lexicon in its compositions. The results show that, once they are used in the formulation of the topics, the expressions belonging to different areas of knowledge are mobilized by a linguistic-pragmatic matter of the thematic statements, for the essay and resumed, through the support texts, leading us to believe that its producers: (i) predict the possible reading comprehension problems by the target audience when they are faced with such terminologies and consequently due to the probable reading deficit that characterizes a portion of the participants; and (ii) promote textual accessibility which may result in fewer difficulties in the texture of the essay requested by the Exam to its interlocutors. Given these data, the studies tempt into proceeding this investigation, seeing as the textual accessibility is still configured as a topic that needs to be improved, considering, mainly, the context of the students’ academic performance at the Basic Education. |

Given these data, the studies tempt into proceeding this investigation, seeing as the textual accessibility is still configured as a topic that needs to be improved, considering, mainly, the context of the students’ academic performance at the Basic Education.
