Resumo: The following study is derived from a teaching experience that aimed to establish a dialogical relationship between theoretical knowledge and everyday practical situations experienced by high school students in the exploration of the polynomial 1st degree function mathematical content. It is about an experience developed within the scope of an in-depth mathematical content course including high school students from a state public school in Ceará. The study is anchored in the qualitative approach, materialized by the technique of observation and recorded notes from the field notebook. The experience which this study is supported on the theoretical basis of Mathematical Education and on the revised mathematical content. Students carried out personal strategies, exposing the critical reflective thinking in solving proposed problem situations. The teacher encouraged students to question and participate during classes. It is considered that this teaching experience provided knowledge construction and deepening of the mathematical content.

Trata-se de uma experiência desenvolvida no âmbito de um curso de aprofundamento de conteúdos matemáticos junto a estudantes do Ensino Médio de uma escola da rede pública estadual cearense. O estudo está ancorado na abordagem qualitativa, materializado pela técnica da observação e anotações provenientes do caderno de campo. A experiência a que se refere este estudo é sustentada na base teórica da Educação Matemática e na revisão do conteúdo matemático. Os estudantes mobilizaram estratégias pessoais, expondo o pensamento reflexivo crítico na resolução das situações-problema propostas. O professor estimulou os estudantes a questionarem e participarem das aulas.
