Resumo: This production aims to analyze the relationships between family and school as institutions responsible for the integral formation of the student-child in the light of recent productions that bring up the discussion about the family-school relationship. For that, Bibliographic Research was used as a methodology, in order to structure a reflection on the subject through the constitution of a theoretical map. The importance of research is due to the fact that it understands the family-school relationship as a necessary tool for the integral development of the child, and, thus, lead us to a reflection on how we can break with old difficulties in order to strengthen ties between these two institutions, at least, to strengthen them in the perspective of an improvement in the integral formation of  the subject. Given the conditions of mutual responsibility between family and school, it is concluded that a relationship between these two institutions is extremely important.

Para tanto, utilizou-se a Pesquisa Bibliográfica como metodologia, para, através da constituição de um mapa teórico, estruturar a reflexão acerca do assunto. A importância da pesquisa deve-se ao fato de compreender a relação família-escola como uma ferramenta necessária para o desenvolvimento integral da criança, e, assim, levar-nos a uma reflexão a respeito de como podemos romper com velhas dificuldades a fim de senão fortalecer os laços entre estas duas instituições, ao menos, estreitá-los na perspectiva de uma melhoria na formação integral do sujeito.
