The historian's craft in the Digital Age: between the challenges and the potentialities produced by digital technologies

Resumo: This work discusses how the digital turn brings implications and possibilities for the application of digital technologies to the historian's craft. The research questions are what are the challenges produced by the use of digital technologies in the historian's craft? Or, what is their potential? Methodologically, a bibliographical research was carried out in Google Scholar using the keywords: "historian's craft", "digital and global history", and "historian's challenges in the digital age". The search was carried out only in Portuguese, 4 (four) articles were found, but two texts cited in the articles mapped using the descriptors were incorporated. It is concluded that the development of research in the area of Digital History and its unfoldings about what the digital culture leads to the historian, is fundamental to understand the transformations that the "Age of Connection" will enable to the historian's craft.

Se constituem como questões de pesquisa: quais são os desafios produzidos pela utilização das tecnologias digitais no ofício do historiador? Ou ainda, quais são as suas potencialidades? Metodologicamente, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica no Google Acadêmico com o uso dos descritores: “ofício do historiador”, “história digital e global” e “desafios do historiador na era digital”. A pesquisa foi realizada somente em Português, foram encontrados 4 (quatro) artigos, porém, incorporados 2 (dois) textos citados nos artigos mapeados com o uso dos descritores.
