Resumo: We intend to explore the theme “traditional popular games” of Brazilian culture from a critical reflection through records of educational practices carried out with students from a second year class, from elementary school I, from a municipal public school in Itaitinga, in the year 2018, reported in the graduate work entitled “Popular Games: experiences with elementary school students 1”. As a reference matrix, Guerra (1988), Collective of Authors (1992), Brotto (2001), Feital and Cortes (2009) and Silva (2015), were used to discuss the topic. Working with this content in basic education, in Physical Education, which is anchored by BNCC (2018), enables the student to learn, appreciate culture and its diversity, tolerance to the new and autonomy to overcome and emancipate.

Como matriz de referência, Guerra (1988), Coletivo de Autores (1992), Brotto (2001), Feital e Cortes (2009) e Silva (2015), foram utilizados para dialogar sobre o tema.
