Resumo: This work is part of the research that investigated the professional trajectory of the graduates of the Music Degree course at a university in Santa Catarina. However, this article specifically presents an excerpt as to the reflection on the role of music education in the training of students in elementary schools and how access to this teaching occurs. It was also reflected on the biosocial impacts that music can have on those who are involved in it. To meet the proposed objectives, we used bibliographic research and the content analysis technique, inspired by the developments of Laurence Bardin (1997). In this section, we consider the following productions of greater relevance for the research: Brescia (2011), Loureiro (2003), Fonterrada (2008), Sekeff (2007) and Penna (2010) We conclude that there is a need for more space for discussion and effective teaching music in schools, in a widely accessible way and promoted by qualified professionals in the area.

No entanto, este artigo especificamente, apresenta um recorte quanto à reflexão sobre a função da educação musical na formação dos alunos de escolas de educação básica e como ocorre o acesso a esse ensino. Também se refletiu sobre os impactos biossociais que a música pode exercer sobre aqueles que estão envoltos nela. Para atender aos objetivos propostos utilizamos pesquisa bibliográfica e a técnica de análise de conteúdo, inspirada nos desenvolvimentos de Laurence Bardin (1997).
