“I found myself in the classroom”: Biography of a Basic Education Educator from Fortaleza-CE

Resumo: The objective is to write a biography of Fernanda Maciel, a teacher who at first did not want to work in teaching, but over time found herself in the profession of educator and today works for some years linked to the city of Fortaleza, capital of Ceará. The study has a qualitative approach, of the biographical type, and was developed through a free interview with the subject herself, via WhatsApp platform, through which narratives were collected, which were recorded and then analyzed in full to constitute documentary sources. It is found that Fernanda Maciel is the daughter of a teacher, which could have been a key point for her to decide to pursue a career in teaching, however, this was not her choice a priori, but came to be consolidated only later. Therefore, the biographer became a teacher in the exercise of the profession, and currently, she understands that being a teacher implies several challenges and that this is not an easy path, but she shows care and zeal for her practice, it is so much that she invests in continuing education on her own. of its own, in addition to the training promoted by the municipal secretariat of Fortaleza.

O estudo é de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo biográfico, e foi desenvolvido mediante entrevista livre com a própria biografada, via plataforma WhatsApp, através da qual foram coletadas narrativas, que foram gravadas e depois analisadas na íntegra para que se constituíssem fontes documentais. Averígua-se que Fernanda Maciel é filha de professor, o que poderia ter sido ponto chave para que ela decidisse optar por seguir carreira na docência, no entanto, essa não foi a priori a sua escolha, mas veio a se consolidar somente mais tarde.
