Summative assessment of learning in-person and remote teaching

Resumo: The social isolation established in many countries, including Brazil, during the Covid-19 pandemic that started in 2020, closed schools and introduced remote classes, requiring pedagogical adaptations. The objective of this work is to compare the forms of summative assessment of Biology in in-person and remote teaching. This research was conducted through an electronic form with high school biology teachers, with one hundred and fifty responses being collected. Teachers stated that they changed the planning of classes and found it difficult to assess student learning in remote education. It was evident that there was no significant difference in the use of summative assessment instruments, in face-to-face and remote teaching, not even when comparing the modalities separately, revealing that there was only a reproduction in remote teaching, related to the assessment instruments, of was done in classes in-person, in addition to using the same forms of assessment regardless of their purpose.

O objetivo deste trabalho é comparar as formas de avaliação somativa de Biologia no ensino presencial e remoto. Esta pesquisa foi realizada por meio de formulário eletrônico com professores de Biologia do ensino médio, sendo coletadas cento e cinquenta respostas. Os docentes afirmaram mudar o planejamento das aulas e ter dificuldades em avaliar a aprendizagem dos alunos no ensino remoto.
