Resumo: | In December 2019, China reported the existence of an atypical pneumonia in Wuhan. The disease had a highly contagious capacity. The name Covid-19 was given to this new disease, which soon caused a pandemic. Simultaneously, a collective psychic suffering came along. The main purpose of the current research is to accomplish an investigation about mental health of students attending to Pedagogy Course at Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) in 2020. Specifically, this study aimed: identifying the psychological state of those students at that time; verifying the impact of pandemic on academic achievement and their risk of evasion. Thus, a qualitative investigation was accomplished, as a study case. The sample was composed by 5 Special Education students. The results revealed an injury to mental health - mainly due to anxiety; a worsening of preexisting psychological disorders and a decrease of productive capacity. This situation made the quality of learning difficult then. |
