Resumo: The director is the professional who acts as one of the main holders of social, political, educational and cultural responsibility expanded to guarantee the quality of student learning. The competencies and skills that correspond to the educational manager's profile represent each school reality that articulates perceptions that allow us to inquire about the educational manager's place in education, as well as the ideal director profile to be at the head of schools. As a general objective for the study on screen, we tried to analyze the performance of the director with an emphasis on the quality of education. Therefore, the methodological course is outlined in a qualitative research with an exploratory and bibliographic nature, plus an interview with two teachers. The importance of the continuous development of skills and abilities, as well as the conceptual repertoire on school management, is the opportunity for change, advancement and evolution of education.

As competências e habilidades que correspondem ao perfil do Gestor educacional representa cada realidade escolar articuladora de percepções que permitem indagar qual é o lugar do gestor educacional na educação, bem como o perfil de diretor ideal para estar à frente das escolas. Como objetivo geral para o estudo em tela, procurou-se analisar a atuação do diretor com ênfase na qualidade da educação. Logo, o percurso metodológico delineia-se em uma pesquisa do tipo qualitativa de cunho exploratório e bibliográfico, acrescido da entrevista com duas professoras.
