Resumo: | This article aims to reflect on the concepts and meanings of the categories school, curriculum and democracy, in order to observe the contributions of theorists to the understanding of these categories and how they are manifested in the training paths of teachers. The work was developed through the study of authors who address the themes discussed and also based on the debates held in the discipline School, Curriculum, and Democracy, of the Academic Master's Degree in Education and Teaching – MAIE - linked to the State University of Ceará – UECE. This study made it possible to perceive how the understanding of the meanings that encompass school, curriculum and democracy are important for investigations in the area in focus, and can contribute to the relationships of different theoretical fields. It was possible to understand the role that the aforementioned categories play in the training of teachers and require their critical and purposeful performance. |

El trabajo fue desarrollado a partir del estudio de autores que abordan los temas discutidos y también a partir de los debates realizados en la disciplina Escuela, Currículo y Democracia, de la Maestría Académica en Educación y Enseñanza - MAIE - vinculada a la Universidad Estatal de Ceará -UECE. Este estudio permitió percibir cómo la comprensión de los significados que engloban escuela, currículo y democracia son importantes para las investigaciones en el área en estudio, y pueden contribuir a las relaciones de diferentes campos teóricos. Fue posible comprender el papel que juegan las categorías mencionadas en la formación de los docentes y exigen su actuación crítica y propositiva.O presente artigo tem como objetivo refletir acerca dos conceitos e significados das categorias escola, currículo e democracia, a fim de observar as contribuições de teóricos à compreensão dessas categorias e de como estas se manifestam em percursos formativos de docentes. O trabalho se desenvolveu por meio do estudo de autores que abordam sobre as temáticas discutidas e também com base nos debates realizados na disciplina Escola, Currículo, e Democracia, do Mestrado Acadêmico em Educação e Ensino – MAIE – vinculado à Universidade Estadual do Ceará – UECE. Esse estudo possibilitou a percepção de como a compreensão dos significados que abrangem a escola, o currículo e a democracia são importantes para as investigações na área em foco, podendo contribuir com as relações de diferentes campos teóricos.
