Scientific research on teaching Natural Sciences in Rural Education: literary review

Rural education is a teaching modality aimed at the interests of rural people. In this context, our study proposed a literary analysis on the teaching of Natural Sciences in Rural Education. With a 10-year temporal frame, from 2010 to 2020, a period on which Rural Education Teaching has been implemented in Brazil, it was possible to identify a total of nine studies. With an established corpus, it was possible to categorize the studies found based on Bardin, which made it possible to define four categories: “theoretical studies”, “teaching methodology proposals”, “textbook assessment”, and “interdisciplinary teaching”. This study allowed for the identification of some concepts that need to be considered in the area. We understood that, even though Rural Education has been discussed for over a decade, it is still not enough and, even though its importance, there are many barriers to implement it.
