Educational background of a student with cerebral palsy in Higher Education

Resumo: The main objective of this work is to analyze the academic formation of a student with cerebral palsy in one of the interior campuses of the State University of Ceará (UECE). This research was based on the qualitative approach, characterizing itself as a case study. The analysis of the data indicated that the student, whose formation was studied, did not present great difficulties in developing his learning potential, even in face of the inadequate conditions of the Center where he studied (architectural, curricular and pedagogical). The success of his training was attributed to the student's efforts and ability, as well as to the collaboration between the institution's professionals, colleagues and the student's family – expression of the proposal of integrationist education, instead of inclusive.

Esta pesquisa se fundamentou na abordagem qualitativa, caracterizando-se como um estudo de caso. A análise dos dados indicou que o aluno, cuja formação foi estudada, não apresentou grandes dificuldades em desenvolver seu potencial de aprendizagem, mesmo diante das condições inadequadas do Centro em que estudava (arquitetônicas, curriculares e pedagógicas).
