Reflections on teaching performance: is there an ideal teacher?

Resumo: Reflecting on the role of the teacher in the exercise of teaching is the focus of the discussions in this text. More specifically, we propose to enter the images that are created about the ideal teacher, to talk about necessary characteristics for their teaching practice, pointing out possibilities and impossibilities to fulfill their functions in the society in which they participate. It is a bibliographic study of a qualitative nature, embodied in the ideas of authors who help us to better understand and explain the tasks of these professionals. Thus understanding, we emphasize that the professional identity of the teacher involves a dynamic and complex action, requiring them to be inserted in the socializing processes of the teaching profession indispensable in the learning environments and that therefore, it is necessary to break out with the idealized image of a ready and perfect model of teacher.

É um estudo bibliográfico de natureza qualitativa, consubstanciado nas ideias de autores que nos auxiliam a melhor compreender e explicitar as tarefas desses profissionais.
