Resumo: | This article aims to describe the role of the monitor and the importance of the monitoring program for teacher training, based on the experiences of a monitor in the discipline “Laboratory”, in the Degree in Chemistry course, at the Universidade Estadual do Pará-UEPA, Campus of Conceição do Araguaia. In this sense, this is a work with a qualitative approach of a descriptive nature, of the experience report type, discussing the actions developed together with the guiding teacher, the teaching professors of the disciplines and the students monitored in the theoretical-practical classes of the course. By these means, monitoring contributed to the improvement of the teaching and learning process, as well as to the professional growth of the undergraduate monitor. |

Nesse sentido, trata-se de um trabalho com abordagem qualitativa de cunho descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, discorrendo as ações desenvolvidas junto à professora orientadora, aos professores ministrantes das disciplinas e aos alunos monitorados nas aulas teórico-práticas do curso.
