Resumo: This article aims to describe the role of the monitor and the importance of the monitoring program for teacher training, based on the experiences of a monitor in the discipline “Laboratory”, in the Degree in Chemistry course, at the Universidade Estadual do Pará-UEPA, Campus of Conceição do Araguaia. In this sense, this is a work with a qualitative approach of a descriptive nature, of the experience report type, discussing the actions developed together with the guiding teacher, the teaching professors of the disciplines and the students monitored in the theoretical-practical classes of the course. By these means, monitoring contributed to the improvement of the teaching and learning process, as well as to the professional growth of the undergraduate monitor.

Nesse sentido, trata-se de um trabalho com abordagem qualitativa de cunho descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, discorrendo as ações desenvolvidas junto à professora orientadora, aos professores ministrantes das disciplinas e aos alunos monitorados nas aulas teórico-práticas do curso.
