Resumo: | This article aims to address Paulo Freire's contributions to Youth and Adult Education (EJA). For the development of this research, a qualitative approach was chosen through an open questionnaire developed with three teachers who work in the EJA teaching modality at the Youth and Adult Education Center located on the outskirts of Fortaleza, Ceará. For the theoretical foundation we rely on the following authors: Freire (1967), Ribas e Soares (2012), Soares and Pedroso (2013), among others. From this scenario, it was concluded that the training and daily practices visualized from the speeches posted by the teachers alert us that EJA, even based on freirian understandings, continues to carry out a traditional and content education. In this sense, we understand that, for there to be change, educational practices must be anchored in a transformative and emancipatory perspective, seeing in a coherent way the contributions of the educator Paulo Freire in the classrooms and in the current documents that support these educational policies. |
