Environmental perception: social representations of basic education teachers

Resumo: To analyze the perceptions of teachers through their social representations about the environment and nature, 32 science teachers of Basic Education in the municipality of Itapipoca, Ceará were interviewed. In this mixed and descriptive approach investigation, the questionnaire was the instrument for data collection, and the analysis involved the use of the IRAMUTEQ software and Bardin's content analysis method. After running the collected information, the program presented four types of analysis. It was possible to verify that the environmental perceptions of these teachers still have a superficial knowledge about the issues involving environmental themes, being suggested a more directed work to Environmental Education, during the initial and continuing education of teachers.

Nesta investigação de abordagem mista e descritiva, o questionário foi o instrumento para coleta dos dados, e a análise envolveu o uso do software IRAMUTEQ e o método de análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Após rodar as informações coletadas, o programa apresentou quatro tipos de análises.
