Macunaíma e Casa grande & Senzala: uma análise decolonial das traduções de Héctor Olea e Antonio Barandiarán

Translation as practice (of) and colonial denounces timeless historical aspects. This study makes an analysis through the interpretation of two translators, one from Mexico and the other from Europe. The translation practice is a complex process, which is constituted especially due to political, ideological and social issues made explicit in and through the languages/cultures involved. In this sense, translation, as a product/result, must be analyzed from a sensitive point of view towards these political, ideological and social elements that cross the experiences presented and how the differences are treated. Therefore, in this article, we present an analysis of the posture of and colonial, based on the observation that we propose to highlight determinants (of) and colonial present in four (4) of the Cultural Markers (CM's) of the ideological domain translated into Spanish and studied in the research by Santos (2021), whose parallel corpus consists of the 16th edition of the rhapsody Macunaíma: a hero without any character (1978), by Mário de Andrade and the translation carried out by Héctor Olea (1979); and in the analysis of the MC's of the hybrid socio-ideological domain and the intersemiotic decisions researched in Costa (2020) from the corpus composed of the 51st edition of Casa Grande & Senzala (FREYRE, 2006) and its translation produced by Antonio Barandiarán (2010). The work's methodology is of a bibliographic nature and is based on studies of cultural markers (AUBERT, 2006), on decolonial discussions (QUIJANO, 2005; MALDONADO-TORRES, 2007) and on translation studies (VENUTI, 1995; 2002; COSTA , 2005).
