Resumo: The aim of this study was to review the clinicopathological aspects and report the data obtained from bacterial endocarditis cases in dogs. A restropective study was carried out based on files of the Veterinary Hospital and the Animal Pathology Laboratory of Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL) from January 2003 to may 2008. During this period, 28 dogs presented bacterial endocarditis, 50% males and 50% females. Medium to large dogs were the most affected and adult animals were prevalent, with the following clinical signs: apathy, hiporexy, hyperthermia, splenomegaly, dyspnea, dehydration, dysuria and cardiac murmur, Necropsy revealed the mitral valve as the most affected cardiac structure and among the organs, the kidneys were the most affected.
