Resumo: The aim of this study is the relationship between archaeological research procedure of michel foucault and temporality, which is a category of history. We then issue the following; what foucault sought to archaeological research in the field of history? We can say that he understood this as a knowledge that makes knowledge of the series on the plots of the narrative discourse of power. And for archaeological research, we understand that this is the form of research in the field of history held by foucault at the beginning of his academic career, particularly in the 1960s, and seeks to describe the discursive statements and find in them the possibilities of human practices in their relationship to objects. Archaeological research has marked his early work, so the study will take place from the initial analysis of the following books, history of madness, the birth of the clinic, the order of things. These books were chosen because even studying very different subjects and objects, have the "archaeological method" a common root. Thus, our study will enable an understanding of how was the relationship of foucault to knowledge from the historiographical study of the history of archaeological research in relation to s history.
