Resumo: The present essay proposes a conceptual dialogue between certain authors very important to contemporary sociological and anthropological theories, such as Homi Bhabha, Stuart Hall, Fredrik Barth, Paul Gilroy, Ulf Hannerz and Clifford Geertz, from a brief review of some of the main ideas, concepts and issues that cross the theme of contact and intercultural flows in a postcolonial context. In this conversation, we realize that, from different ways and traveling different paths, all the authors draw attention to the highly creative character and “additive” of the difference, which will result in an understanding of culture as a movement or process in constant transformation. In times of marked radicalism, intolerance and hate speech, it is an invitation to a way of perceiving difference as an addition and never as a restriction or contradiction.

En esta conversación, nos daremos cuenta de que de diferentes maneras y a lo largo de diferentes caminos, todos los autores llaman la atención sobre el carácter eminentemente creativo y "aditivo" de la diferencia, que dará como resultado una comprensión de la cultura como un movimiento o proceso en constante cambio. . En tiempos de marcado radicalismo, intolerancia y discurso de odio, es una invitación a una forma de percibir la diferencia como una adición y nunca como una restricción o contradicción.O presente ensaio propõe um diálogo conceitual entre determinados autores bastante caros às teorias sociológica e antropológica contemporâneas, como Homi Bhabha, Stuart Hall, Fredrik Barth, Paul Gilroy, Ulf Hannerz e Clifford Geertz, a partir de uma breve revisão de algumas das principais ideias, conceitos e questões que atravessam o tema do contato e dos fluxos interculturais em um contexto pós-colonial. Nessa conversa, perceberemos que, a partir de diferentes maneiras e percorrendo caminhos distintos, todos os autores chamam a atenção para o caráter eminentemente criativo e “aditivo” da diferença, o que resultará em um entendimento da cultura como um movimento ou processo em constante transformação.
