Resumo: This paper analyzes the peculiarities involving thelegal market and the regulation imposed by theBrazilian Bar Association (OAB) through theCode of Ethics and Discipline regarding theadvertising of legal services, seeking to analyzethe impacts suffered by legal services with respectto the right to information and thedemocratization of competition. Initially, theevolution of the legal market in Brazil isanalyzed, addressing business practices applicableto law firms. Subsequently, restrictionsestablished by the Code of Ethics and Disciplineof the Brazilian Bar Association are discussed,especially with regard to legal advertising and itsimpact on the legal market. Finally, afterpresenting the consequences of a limitation onpublicity, the problem of the impact of the right toinformation and the democratization ofcompetition in light of the Code of Ethics andDiscipline of the Brazilian Bar Association isdiscussed. To this end, this stidy utilizedbibliographical research with the consultation ofbooks, specialized publications, articles andelectronic sites.

To this end, this stidy utilizedbibliographical research with the consultation ofbooks, specialized publications, articles andelectronic sites.O trabalho analisa as peculiaridades que envolvem o mercado jurídico e a regulação imposta pela Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB) por intermédio do Código de Ética e Disciplina quanto à publicidade dos serviços jurídicos, buscando analisar os impactos sofridos pelos serviços jurídicos no que diz respeito ao direito à informação e à democratização da concorrência. Inicialmente, analisa-se a evolução do mercado jurídico no Brasil, abordando práticas empresariais aplicáveis aos escritórios de advocacia. Posteriormente, discorre-se sobre as restrições trazidas pelo Código de Ética e Disciplina da OAB, em especial no que se refere à publicidade jurídica e o seu impacto no mercado jurídico. Por fim, apresentados os desdobramentos de uma limitação da publicidade, debate-se a problemática do impacto do direito à informação e da democratização da concorrência diante do Código de Ética e Disciplina da OAB. Para tanto, empreendeu-se um estudo por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, com a consulta de livros, publicações especializadas, artigos e sítios eletrônicos.Palavras-chave: Publicidade. Ética.
