Resumo: From the analysis of an Reuters press’ picture on the strike air in Lybia, and massive reproduction of this photo on the covers of newspapers from various countries of the world, this article seeks to reflect on the status of the image in French Discourse Analysis. For this, the article uses the clues of excess and strangeness with which the analyst can, in building their archive, restore what Pêcheux (1982) defined as the controversial space of different ways to read (see). In this analytical work, the place of the historical subject of a speech and also the place of the analyst are called.

Para isso, vale-se das pistas do excesso e do estranhamento, com as quais o analista pode, na construção do seu arquivo, restaurar o que Pêcheux (1982) definia como o espaço polêmico das diferentes maneiras de ler (ver).
