This study will deal with Corporate Governance – the third axis of ESG, an acronym that promises to revolutionize the business world – demonstrating its importance about human rights issues within the scope of the Global Compact. Corporate governance plays an essential role not only in the organization's reputation, ensuring internal ethical regularity, but also externally, with conscious business and mitigating negative social risks. Thus, this article will bring the concept and characteristics of corporate governance, its importance in achieving the global goals of the United Nations, and a brief demonstration of risk analysis and direct and indirect violations of human rights. Concluding that business ethics and care for Human Rights is no longer a choice, but an existential requirement. For that, the hypothetical-deductive method was used with documental and bibliographic analysis.
