Perceptions of students of the Biblioteconomic course of the Brasilia University on the curricular grade, competences and the labor market

Resumo: | Introduction: The research investigated the perceptions of the students of the Librarianship course of the University of Brasília on the curriculum, skills and labor market. Objective: To verify the perception of the potential graduates of the Librarianship course of the University of Brasília-UnB, in the second half of 2015 and in the first semester of 2016, in relation to their own competence to enter the labor market, the current curriculum and also the opinion about the pedagogical practices of teachers. Methodology: Descriptive research, which used the mixed approach for the treatment of quantitative and qualitative data, with questionnaire application. Results: The group that participates in this research is formed by a majority of women, young people, between the ages of 21 and 25 and the year of admission in 2012. According to these students, there is a lack of subjects in all areas related to Librarianship, with emphasis in the social area , applied and technological. Regarding professional competences, if they evaluated good in those related to communication and expression, to the technical-scientific, to the social and to the political and managerial, but if they perceived themselves as regular in the elaboration of information products and in general management skills and in policy planning conservation and documentary preservation. Conclusions: From the answers obtained, it was concluded that, in the view of the students, the curriculum is a point to be reflected and was considered general and superficial, as well as lagged in relation to what they learned in the stages. However, they found that the teachers presented the novelties of the area in class. In addition, for this group, the course was considered theoretical and the experiences in the stages were fundamental to have contact with the most modern in the professional practice. |

Objetivo: Verificar la percepción de los potenciales egresados del curso de Biblioteconomía de la Universidad de Brasilia-UNB, del segundo semestre de 2015 y del primer semestre de 2016, en relación a la propia competencia para ingreso en el mercado de trabajo, a la actualidad de la parrilla curricular y también a la opinión sobre las prácticas pedagógicas de los docentes. Metodología: Investigación descriptiva, que utilizó el enfoque mixto para el tratamiento de los datos cuantitativos y cualitativos, con aplicación de cuestionario. Resultados: Los participantes de este grupo de investigación está formado por una mayoría de mujeres, jóvenes, con edades comprendidas entre 21 y 25 años y el año de entrada en el año 2012. De acuerdo con estos estudiantes, que carecen de disciplinas de todas las áreas relacionadas a la Biblioteconomía, con énfasis en el área social, aplicada y tecnológica. En cuanto a las competencias profesionales, se evaluaron buenos en aquellas relacionadas a la comunicación y expresión, a las técnico-científicas, a las sociales ya las políticas y gerenciales, pero se percibieron como regulares en la elaboración de productos de información y en las competencias gerenciales en general y en planificación de políticas de conservación y preservación documental. Conclusiones: Por las respuestas obtenidas, se concluyó que, en la visión de los discentes, la rejilla curricular es un punto a ser reflejado y fue considerada generalista y superficial, además de desfasada en relación a lo que aprendían en las etapas. Sin embargo, se encontró que los profesores presentaban las novedades del área en las aulas. Además, para este grupo, el curso fue considerado teórico y las experiencias en las etapas eran fundamentales para tener contacto con lo que había de más moderno en el ejercicio profesional.Introdução: A pesquisa investigou as percepções dos alunos do curso de Biblioteconomia da Universidade de Brasília sobre a grade curricular, as competências e o mercado de trabalho. Objetivo: Verificar a percepção dos potenciais egressos do curso de Biblioteconomia da Universidade de Brasília-UnB, do segundo semestre de 2015 e do primeiro semestre de 2016, em relação à própria competência para ingresso no mercado de trabalho, à atualidade da grade curricular e também a opinião acerca das práticas pedagógicas dos docentes. Metodologia: Pesquisa descritiva, que utilizou a abordagem mista para tratamento dos dados quantitativos e qualitativos, com aplicação de questionário. Resultados: O grupo participante desta pesquisa é formado por uma maioria de mulheres, jovens, com faixa etária entre 21 e 25 anos e ano de ingresso em 2012. De acordo com esses alunos, faltam disciplinas de todas áreas relacionadas à Biblioteconomia, com ênfase na área social, aplicada e tecnológica. Acerca das competências profissionais, se avaliaram bons naquelas relacionadas à comunicação e expressão, às técnico-científicas, à social e às políticas e gerenciais, mas se perceberam como regulares na elaboração de produtos de informação e nas competências gerenciais em geral e em planejamento de políticas de conservação e preservação documental. Conclusões: Pelas respostas obtidas, concluiu-se que, na visão dos discentes, a grade curricular é um ponto a ser refletido e foi considerada generalista e superficial, além de defasada em relação ao que aprendiam nos estágios. No entanto, constataram que os professores apresentavam as novidades da área nas aulas.
